TROPICAL STORM JERRY ALERT STATEMENT ISSUED BY THE ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA METEOROLOGICAL SERVICES

by Shirlian Queeley
RESIDENTS IN THE LEEWARD AND BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS ARE ASKED TO CLOSELY MONITOR THE PROGRESS OF TROPICAL STORM, REVIEW HURRICANE PREPAREDNESS PLANS AND BE PREPARED TO ACT AS ANY FURTHER WESTWARD MOTION COULD BRING THE CORE OF THE SYSTEM CLOSER TO THE ISLANDS

TROPICAL STORM JERRY REMAINS A THREAT TO THE NORTH EASTERN CARIBBEAN, BUT PERHAPS SLIGHTLY REDUCED, AS THE SYSTEM CONTINUES TO MOVE WEST-NORTHWEST AT AN INCREASED SPEED OF 14 MPH, IN HARMONY WITH THE FORECAST, WHICH HAS IT LIKELY PASSING ABOUT 100 MILES NORTH OF BARBUDA. WINDS ARE AT 50 MPH.
